many of their dishes are wheat free naturally. The cafe doesn't offer gluten free Pita. Ask which dishes are appropriate for gluten free
I've been coming here for about two years. The food is excellent and the food portions are plentyful. I definitely recommend coming to this family owned and operated business.
This place is amazing. I got the chicken. Tasted great. Very reasonable prices. I picked up some sweets from their bakery and they were great too.
The food here is consistently good and there's always several items to choose from. Obviously, being a Mediterranean type place there are lots of vegetarian options as well. The bonus here is that there's a nice bakery as part of this restaurant with so many different types of pastries for dessert. It can get really busy at lunch time with large office groups.
Huge quantities for the price but the taste is just okay.
Consistently great food. Love this place!
They kill you with food at Peace Bakery--the plates and portions are so big that I can't ever come close to finishing them! And it's delicious, too! Go through the line and order from one meat and two sides, pay, then get your drink and pita bread. I usually get the chicken shawarma. The staff is friendly and helpful, too.The bakery has a lot of different yummy stuff to try, including many gluten-free pastries.
I love Peace Bakery! They have the largest, best variety of baklava in Texas. Their meats are delicious, their vegetable servings are generous, and the service is always fast and friendly.
Such a darling, authentic Middle Eastern find! It really tastes like home. Clean, great selections, and awesome customer service!
I've only come here for lunch and it's always plentiful and delicious. I enjoy their shawerma plate with two sides, which is so generous that I consider it four sides.
Amazing, fresh middle eastern and Mediterranean foods freshly prepared and served by nice people. And the place is exceptionally clean.
I've eaten here many times and have tried to increase my purchases during these tough times, but will no longer be ordering from here, given the last 2 experiences were very poor. 1. Ordered food for takeout, showed up, order had been lost so they re did it, but forgot my kids food (only noticed when I got home with it).2. Ordered again about 2 weeks later, even after the 1st poor experience. Called in my order, asked for the kids meal (which I had ordered 3 times in the last month) and was told they don't do kids meals any more. So I asked what would be equivalent so I could get my kids some food. The response was " I don't know man". That didn't sit well with me, needless to say I didn't complete my order. They must not need all the business they can get at the moment.
Rich, delcious cuisine. The desserts are incredible!
My favourite middleeastern deli. They serve the best baklava in Austin.
The veggies here are fantastic. They have a reasonably diverse menu with a lot of good food for reasonable prices. Plus there's a whole bakery attached so you can get plenty without eating a whole meal.
Mediterranean food sure is tasty. This is both a restaurant and a bakery. I came for the food and it is very filling. It looks like a family owned restaurant and the staff is very friendly. The portions are great too. Recommended.
Great food. Best falafel.
I cannot get enough of this place, no matter how often I go. Everything's delicious. My favorite dish is the chicken thigh on pita with onions and nuts. SO GOOD. The desserts are absolutely out of this world. I can never finish a plate, so I end up eating at least another meal the next day from the leftovers. The service is also amazing. The one time my food took longer to come out, they brought me a massive piece of dessert on the house.
Quite good food. The lamb shank is so tender and just enough seasoning to make it go so well over rice. Hummus was very good. I've had it more flavorful over places, but this is quality hummus all the same. Fresh pita bread, and as much as you need. Great bakery as well, with some of the best baklava I have had in the States. Staff here is very polite and friendly. You can tell it is a family business. Highly recommend.
I would give 10 stars if I could. This is only my second review, so, it’s well deserved. It’s got a Lubys layout but the food is great quality. Best middle eastern food I’ve had an probably the best in quality since I’ve lived in Austin the last 2 years. Try it or die. 🤷🏼♂️💯
Ordered a lamb shawarma, not on menu, very accommodating, Turkish coffee is a hit! Clean, a little difficult to spot from the street, but worth the effort to get here.
It seems like every week in Austin, I'm trying a Mediterranean place that's better than the last and Peace Bakery might be our new favorite. You have to get their vegetarian platter! For $13 you get to try ALL 17 sides! All of them! In the picture below, both of those platters is one vegetarian platter. It also comes with tons of pita! So much that I froze some to have for later. I also got a falafel wrap and my wife got a chicken wrap. I loved my wrap and while she enjoyed hers, she liked mine better. But honestly the best part may have been the baklava. They have the word 'Bakery' in their name for a reason. It was a huge serving (usually baklava servings are quite small) and it was very moist and delicious.
I love that they let you select half options of vegetables, so then you can try two dishes instead of one, or four dishes instead of two, along with your entree. I never leave here hungry, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's spacious and peaceful, and you can eat a happy meal instead of sitting in traffic. Yum!
Nice place to grab lunch or dinner , I face been going there past 4 years. Though menu has to change. Staff can be friendly but seems like no effort from them. Pita bread is daily fresh and taste great. Premise sweets like baklava and cookies and kunafa. Fountain drinks only on fresh juices are available and only on kind of hot tea option. Could do more .
Everything is super fresh. Family owned and the food is prepared with love, you can tell. Tabouli, hummus, baked lamb, and other Mediterranean style dishes. They bake all of their own pita bread and assorted baklava. Best tabouli and baklava I've ever had and the baked chicken with rice will never let you down! One of my favorite places for lunch.
I'm home! Middle Eastern food that's better than my grandma's. Fresh bread baked every day, and my kids fight over it. The dessert bakery is heaven!
A great shout out to Peace bakery thank you so much for showing you care by bringing our health care clinic lunch. The food was really good. I can't wait to come visit when we are no longer on lockdown!
I like this place. This is to go place in Austin for eastern-Mediterranean food. They are mostly authentic and they are consistent with the quality of their food. The owners definitely work hard and they take pride in their restaurant. Food is delicious. I have tried all the other similar restaurants in Austin area, and for cost and quality, Peace bakery is hands down number one. My favourite dish is Lamb shank. Yummy. I would give them 5-stars if overall cleanliness of the restaurant was better. I am sure that will improve with time as well.
First time in, and the staff was awesome. They seemed to be pretty busy around lunch time, and everyone in front of us knew exactly what they were there for. Unfortunately, we took a bit longer - but everyone was happy to walk us through everything they had to offer. The prices were good for the amount of food you received, and they even sent us off with free soups. Looking forward to stopping in again soon!
Wow!!! Just wow. I have been searching for a Mediterranean spot that could challenge my favorite spots in Houston, and finally I have found it. The veggie platter was so delicious and I can't even find one thing I would critique out of everything we got. My husband got the beef shawarma and loved it. The falafel is nice and flavorful, which is usually bland at most places. I cannot wait to go back!!! Thank you Peace Bakery for the well thought out menu and simply delicious food.
Amazing food, amazing value, very fast service. Takeout is well organized. Really hoping they are around post Covid. PS, pastries are too die for, so yummy.
Best Mediterranean restaurant in town. Huge serving portions too, and the desserts are unbelievable.
